Position Summary:
The HR/ Administrative Assistant will support the day-to-day Human Resource and Office operations. This position performs duties in some or all of the following areas: employee relations, recruiting, employment, benefits administration, etc. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization.
This position is a full-time position reporting to the HR/Safety Manager. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Hours are subject to change as needed.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Answers phone calls and greets visitors in a courteous manner.
· Schedules and/or coordinates necessary items for meetings and/or events.
· Assists in carrying out various human resource programs and assists with HR projects.
· Monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
· Answering employee requests and questions.
· Participates in recruitment efforts and helps coordinate the use of temporary employees.
· Coordinates new employee orientations.
· Assist in maintaining confidential personnel files and personnel actions.
· Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment requests.
· Manages and tracks employee disciplinary actions.
· Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports. Monitors vacation and other time off requests.
· Primary backup for payroll.
· Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9; periodically audits I-9 forms.
· Supports other departments as needed.
- Will assist with maintaining safety including recognize hazards, human or product, and take required action to eliminate them, know and practice safe lifting, bending and pulling/pushing procedures, know the location of safety data sheets (SDS) and other appropriate safety devices, know the procedures for fire evacuation, severe weather and power failure, use equipment properly and know the safety features, and know location / items available of the first aid station.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
