What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations and Quality Control position at DeltaTRAK, Inc.?
Operations Department Responsibilities:
· Manage the overall operation of assigned facility - may include multi-site responsibilities
· Ensure site KPI’s are established / maintained according to Company assigned deliverables, as well as identified process improvement initiatives
· Develop and maintain appropriate ERP / Systems capabilities to allow for an uninterrupted supply of materials / finished goods to support manufacturing / fulfillment requirements
· Set / maintain inventory levels to limit excess/obsolete exposure, while controlling in-bound freight expenditures -
· Monitor and improve Operational activities related to direct labor efficiency
· Monitor and approve facility expenditures within the guidelines of the Operation’s budget
· Develop process / preventive measures to limit the impact of product defects and associated re-work
· Perform ongoing audits of the production / distribution process, and take appropriate steps to resolve process deficiencies
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive Safety / Environmental Program resulting in “0” lost time accidents, while meeting all Local / State / Federal regulatory compliance requirements
Quality Department Responsibilities:
· Improve the efficiency, process integrity and traceability of our recovery and recycling operation.
· Develop a cloud based quality system that score cards the integrity of the recycled product performance on a system wide basis.
· Detail analysis of the actual process flow at each stage of the operation and evaluate what key parameters needs to collected in order to process it to next correct node of the recycling process.
· Collect the quality condition of the IoT devices like battery integrity ( change or recharge), functional/ cosmetic condition, recycled # trip history , sim card service condition, calibration check records etc.
· Initiate the Quality process analysis for the recovery and recycling operation and create the process tree that will help our developers to automate the traceability and systematically improve the recycling operations that will need to integrate with our other web application software platforms like Salesforce, Flashtrak, UBQ, Unleashed, Macola , and Sage.
· Maintain site’s ISO accreditation, and other product / process regulatory and compliance requirements
· Directs and oversees the quality control department and supervisory staff.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Evaluates production operations from a strategic level to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and other specifications and requirements.
· Collaborates with management and senior staff across production departments and roles to draft acceptable quality standards.
· Develops and implements quality standard testing and evaluation processes.
· Facilitates communication among production divisions and management.
· Assesses test results and approves recommended changes.
· Reviews quality control documentation such as checklists, logs, and reports for effectiveness, accuracy, and relevance.
· Conducts random inspections and quality control checks.
· Periodically reports status of quality control and operations to executive leadership and, when required, regulatory agencies.
· Evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change
· Determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies
· Coordinating audits with other departments within an organization to ensure that all aspects of quality assurance are being addressed
· Reviewing data collected during audits to identify any potential areas of concern
· Training employees on new quality procedures to ensure that they are aware of new policies and procedures
· Managing the Quality and Regulatory personnel to ensure quality system compliance with all state and federal regulations, including the hiring process and performance appraisal
· Establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products
· Studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers
· Ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality services
· Creating strategies to improve the quality of service while meeting all company goals
- Strategic Planning and Execution: The Director of Operations develops and implements operational strategies that align with the company's goals. This includes setting performance metrics and ensuring that all departments work cohesively towards common objectives.
- Process Improvement: They continuously seek ways to enhance operational processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity. This may involve analyzing workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing new technologies or methodologies.
- Budget Management: The Director is responsible for developing and controlling operational budgets to promote profitability. This includes resource allocation and ensuring that departments operate within their financial parameters.
- Team Leadership and Development: They oversee the operations staff, ensuring that team members are motivated, trained, and equipped to meet their responsibilities. This includes conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Cross-Departmental Coordination: The Director of Operations facilitates collaboration among various departments, such as HR, finance, marketing, and sales, to ensure that all functions are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
- Risk Management: They identify potential risks and challenges within operations and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes ensuring compliance with industry regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Performance Monitoring: The Director regularly evaluates the efficiency of business procedures and implements improvements based on data analysis. They also keep senior leadership informed about operational performance and outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: They maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and other business partners, to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
