Summary:
Responsible to interact with clients as the primary contact to develop creative solutions to operational and mechanical issues with existing equipment utilizing sound engineering principles and practices, sell the Deltak solution, and provide support through project completion.
Responsibilities:
- Generate aftermarket sales leads and evaluate leads for fit with Deltak’s Aftermarket product line, capabilities and goals.
- Travel to customer sites to sell and market Aftermarket goals.
- Develop sound technical and commercial proposals that meet customer requirements and specifications and Deltak corporate goals.
- Develop preliminary project schedules.
- Coordinate all aspects of the proposal including specification review, cost estimation, and evaluation of commercial terms and conditions of sale.
- Provide proposal follow up leading to Aftermarket project sales.
- Perform formal and informal problem and failure investigations and Engineering Studies in support of Aftermarket sales, including writing detailed technical reports.
- Perform equipment inspections to provide technical support to potential customers and to position Deltak for Aftermarket engineered equipment sales based upon inspection recommendations.
- Coordinate and manage field service projects to respond to customer requirements for technical support.
- Assist in lead generation, sales, and execution of parts orders.
- Participate in national and regional conferences, Users Group meetings, and trade shows.
- Maintain accurate and easily accessible records of site conditions, customer interactions, proposal activity, and inspection findings.
- Up to annual average of 25% travel required (primarily domestic). Drivers liecense required.
- Exposed to occupational and environmental risks with field inspection assignments.
Technical Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge in areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow, process systems, steam and other related process system.
- Solid engineering background to understand boiler system components and operation, encompassing boiler design, performance evaluation, operation, and ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Sections I and VIII a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specification.
- Intermediate to advanced technical software skills to keep accurate and easily accessible records such as MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Education:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred with a thorough working knowledge in the areas of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow and process systems.
- Equivalent experience considered
Experience:
- 5 years related experience working in a technical environment with technical troubleshooting and report writing experience.
- HRSG and Waste Heat Boiler operation, design, fabrication, or service experience considered an asset
