Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Engineer for our Denver office. In this role, you will be a key member of our accident reconstruction team, providing expert consulting services to clients within the legal, insurance, and transportation industries. We are committed to ensuring that our clients have all the necessary details to accurately understand and resolve high-stakes vehicle accidents.

This role offers a blend of fieldwork and in-office analysis. Fieldwork involves the use of advanced technologies, such as 3D laser scanning, drones, and camera equipment, to accurately document accident sites and vehicles, preserving key details before they can be impacted by environmental changes. In the office, you will analyze factors such as vehicle speed, damage, impact forces, driver reaction times, and available video footage. Additionally, we employ advanced software tools to create precise accident reconstructions, providing a visual representation of the events.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, high mechanical aptitude, and a proactive commitment to applying their expertise in support of accurate, science-based accident reconstruction.

Skills And Qualifications

  • M.S. (preferred) or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
  • Knowledge or interest in vehicle dynamics, automotive controls, vehicle data networks, advanced driver-assist systems, autonomous vehicles, vehicle repair/maintenance
  • Experience in the use of 3D modeling software is highly desired
  • Ability to present technical information clearly and effectively, ensuring comprehension across varying levels of technical expertise
  • Technical writing experience in research
  • Availability for approximately 25% regional travel
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrated through effective interactions with both team members and clients
  • Comfortable working within a team and in a collaborative space
  • Demonstrate a positive, committed attitude with a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to team goals and project success
  • Ability and desire to learn

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site inspections, vehicle assessments, and rapid response investigations
  • Capture and document evidence using drones and 3D laser scanning technology
  • Apply software tools including CAD, photogrammetry, collision simulation, vehicle event data recorder analysis, and laser scanning platforms
  • Prepare clear, technically accurate written reports and present findings to a range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Plan and execute engineering analyses and support related project tasks with a high level of technical precision
  • Support multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining high-quality deliverables

Compensation

The base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, depending on prior experience and expertise, which will be evaluated during the interview process.
