Role Description
Delta Steel is looking for an experienced Yard Logistics Coordinator to join our team. This key position oversees the safe and efficient movement of heavy structural steel, coordinates shipments, and leads a small yard team to ensure proper inventory management, material organization, and that deliveries are efficiently managed.
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate heavy equipment used for loading/unloading structural steel
- Build, stage, and manage loads for outbound shipments
- Coordinate with trucking and shipping companies to schedule deliveries and pickups
- Maintain an organized yard and ensure material is stored and tracked properly
- Lead and support a small team of yard personnel
- Monitor equipment, conduct inspections, and uphold safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- Experience loading and moving heavy structural steel
- Familiarity with structural steel projects, logistics, or related fields is a plus
- Strong logistics/shipping background
- Skilled with forklifts, SkyTrak, or other heavy equipment (certifications a plus)
- Ability to read shipping documents and understand load requirements
- Leadership experience managing a small team
- Highly organized, safety-focused, and reliable
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is preferred
