About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Director of Residential Supports to join our team. You will work closely with a Director of Residential Supports (DRS) and be responsible for overseeing 3–4 residential programs. In this role, you’ll lead staff, ensure high-quality care for the people we support, and help improve our services every day.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and support Residential Managers (RMs), including evaluations, training, and professional growth.
- Oversee administrative and clinical work handled by RMs.
- Advocate for individuals and make sure they are always treated with dignity and respect.
- Ensure people have opportunities to pursue meaningful activities of their choice.
- Maintain safe, clean, and welcoming homes that reflect each person’s interests.
- Monitor health and safety needs, including medical care and documentation.
- Help develop and manage budgets, staffing schedules, and program resources.
- Support the hiring process for new staff.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, guardians, funders, and other staff.
- Respond to emergencies when on-call and help resolve urgent issues.
- Oversee program documentation, including health, financial, and individual support records.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and funding source regulations.
- Work with clinicians and nurses on behavior support and care planning.
- Provide direct support to individuals when needed.
- Take part in program evaluations, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
- Complete reports and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (6–10 years in the field).
- Experience with behavioral support techniques.
- Strong knowledge of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Clean background check and driving record.
- Ability to complete and demonstrate skills in CPR, First Aid, behavior management, medication administration, and safe driving.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations for nonprofit services.
