  • Linear route development and constructability analysis
  • Field verification and site walks
  • Utility conflict identification and resolution
  • Preparation of construction drawings and permit-ready plan sets
  • Coordination with internal engineering teams, contractors, utility owners, and clients
This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of OSP fiber design, with demonstrated experience in underground telecommunications infrastructure applications. Fluency in AutoCAD and industry-standard GIS platforms is required.

Who We Are
Delta Oaks Group is a multi-discipline engineering, inspection, and consulting firm delivering end-to-end site development and fiber/data solutions across the telecommunications, energy, utility, and commercial markets. We were founded on two guiding principles: provide superior client service and hire and retain exceptional talent. Our success is built on strong relationships and the people behind them. Our culture is rooted in servant leadership, accountability, and doing the right thing every time.

What You'll Do
Design & Drafting:
  • Translate field and desktop-derived data into accurate CAD and GIS deliverables, including fiber layouts, splice schematics, and pathway profiles.
  • Generate accurate conduit, fiber, handhole, vault, and restoration quantities to support estimating and procurement.
  • Identify unique site conditions that may require additional permitting or property acquisition.
  • Obtain and review existing records, maps, photos, and utility documentation to support design development.
  • Analyze locates, existing utilities, and civil plans to avoid conflicts and adjust routes around gas, water, sewer, storm, and electric infrastructure.
  • Apply practical knowledge of environmental constraints, right-of-way requirements, traffic control, and safe construction practices to ensure designs are compliant and buildable.
Field Work:
  • Conduct field walks to observe existing conditions, collect measurements, and document infrastructure.
  • Coordinate field findings with design requirements to produce constructible, code-compliant fiber OSP plans.
Team Collaboration:
  • Partner with project managers, environmental specialists, and engineers to move projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication with both clients and internal teams.
Permitting
  • Easement, ROW, and permitting experience is a plus and may become a larger part of the role over time.

Who You Are
  • Technically Proficient: You have 4 years of OSP fiber experience and are fluent in AutoCAD and industry-standard GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Safety-Driven: You are OSHA 10 certified or willing to obtain certification and consistently follow company safety protocols.
  • Independent & Analytical: You take initiative, think critically, and solve problems in real time, while knowing when to involve others for the best outcome.
  • Hardworking & Curious: You take pride in your work, ask questions, and are willing to put in the effort to get the job done right.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent OSP design/ISP/fiber project management experience.
