About the Role
Delta Financial Group is a dynamic, high-growth, private credit fund manager specializing in originating, structuring, and managing commercial equipment lease/finance transactions. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our credit and underwriting team. This role sits at the center of the deal lifecycle — from initial credit analysis through document review, management communication, and portfolio administration — supporting transactions across a wide range of industries and equipment types, including artificial intelligence (data center finance), rail, and other commercial and technology assets. Passion and curiosity to learn is a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform credit analysis and underwriting on prospective lessees, including financial statement review, ratio analysis (FCCR, leverage, liquidity), and credit rating interpretation (S&P, Moody's, Fitch)
Utilize AI tools to assist with daily tasks and drive operational improvements
Structure and price equipment lease transactions
Review legal documentation to identify key commercial terms, obligations, and risk provisions
Draft credit memos and deal summaries for internal and investor-facing use
Support fund and SPV-level transaction structuring, including review of agreements and related-party provisions in coordination with outside counsel
Communicate directly with capital partners and investors regarding deal status, structuring questions, and portfolio performance
Build and maintain Excel-based financial models and tracking tools for pricing, equipment schedules, and portfolio monitoring
Navigate CRM and document management systems (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint) to retrieve, organize, and validate deal documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally with originators, portfolio management, and legal/compliance to move transactions from term sheet to funding
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance required; we may consider degrees in Accounting, Economics, or related fields, and AI fluency is a plus
1–4 years of experience working in the financial industry (internship experience considered)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong Excel skills, including formula-based modeling (XLOOKUP, SUMPRODUCT, PV/RATE functions)
Familiarity with financial statement analysis and credit rating frameworks
Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, professional investor correspondence
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing multiple transactions simultaneously
Experience with AI tools a plus
Ability to work independently while collaborating across underwriting, legal, and origination teams
