Delta Field Services, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Supervisor to lead and support underground utility locating and auditing operations. This role involves supervising field technicians, ensuring accurate utility locates, maintaining safety standards, and assisting in training and quality assurance. The ideal candidate has experience in utility locating, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in outdoor environments.

*Looking for candidates local to the Northeastern OH area, pay rate is TBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and delegate work assignments to field technicians.
  • Assist in technician training and ensure adherence to locating practices.
  • Conduct damage investigations and perform quality assurance checks.
  • Develop and revise standard operating procedures.
  • Locate and mark underground utilities to prevent damage during excavation.
  • Maintain accurate records using paper and electronic systems.
  • Interpret utility maps, engineering plans, and drawings.
  • Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available to field employees.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and the public.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in underground natural gas utility locating and auditing.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills in multiple types of software including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of locating equipment and utility mapping tools.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in reading utility maps and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and field operations.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize workload
  • Must have good time management and organizational skills
  • Must be currently authorized to work for any U.S. employer
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license

Working Conditions

This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions and environments, including traffic and construction zones. Field Supervisors must be able to perform physical tasks and use locating equipment in moderately adverse conditions, and must be able to travel and work extended hours as needed.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Must have the physical dexterity to accomplish the duties defined herein
  • Must have the ability to walk, climb, stand, stoop, lift above head, pull, push, kneel, or bend for over 75% of time
  • Must have the ability to identify colors used in work
  • Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Must have the ability to work in OSHA designated noise environments (> 85 decibels)
  • Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions, high traffic areas, and heavily vegetated areas and at all hours of the day
  • Must have ability to work extended hours on nights, weekends, and holidays during an emergency event
  • Must have the ability to recognize problems quickly and use good judgment in locating the most appropriate guideline or practice to follow with little or no supervision to solve problems
  • Must be available to travel up to 75% of the time

Experience Desired

  • Understanding of utility systems
  • Prior utility construction experience
  • Prior experience with ground penetrating radar (GPR)
  • Prior experience reading maps or blueprints
  • Prior experience locating utilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
