About the role:

The Learning and Talent Development Specialist is responsible for supporting learning and development programs that empower employees to build and grow meaningful careers at Delta. This role serves as a Center of Excellence (COE) for Learning & Talent Development, including coordinating training committees, driving upskilling and reskilling initiatives, supporting organizational transformation, and advancing digital learning transformation efforts.

The position partners closely with HR team members and cross-functional stakeholders to design, deliver, and manage impactful learning solutions that enhance employee capability, engagement, and organizational effectiveness across the Americas region.


Key responsibilities:

  1. Execute cross-site and region Learning & Development operations and initiatives.
  2. Develop annual learning and development roadmaps aligned with organizational and business needs.
  3. Conduct training needs analysis, vendor evaluation, training effectiveness assessment, training material development, and support the establishment of training committee governance mechanisms.
  4. Lead and manage regional learning and development activities and projects, including virtual and in-person program logistics, participant communications, vendor coordination, scheduling, venue arrangements, catering, audio-visual (AV) support, and facilitator management.
  5. Support the design and implementation of training and development frameworks, including corporate core competency models and functional learning roadmaps.
  6. Utilize LMS, Academy, and other learning management platforms to administer and manage training programs and learning records.
  7. Provide effective consultation and solutions for a broad range of learning and talent development issues and cases.
  8. Monitor, evaluate, and maintain training records and metrics to ensure program effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  9. Coordinate HR-related training analysis, audits, and reporting processes to support employee development tracking and compliance requirements.
  10. Support leadership in talent planning, succession planning, and talent pipeline development initiatives.
  11. Partner and collaborate with HR teams to execute company-wide Leadership Development Committee (LDC) and Talent Development Committee (TDC) programs.
  12. Perform other Learning and Talent development related duties and assignments as assigned by management.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Training and Talent Development or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of training methodologies and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills; proficient in both in-person and livestream delivery.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and service-oriented environment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business strategies into talent and workforce development initiatives.
  • Strong business writing skills for internal and external communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint, including mail-merge and VLOOKUP.
  • Familiar with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and committed to continuous process improvement.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) or have trainer experience.
  • Experience in organizational transformation and change management.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $96,000- $135,000 per year. Actual pay will depend on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, and business needs. This role may also be eligible for incentive pay, subject to the terms of the applicable plan. Eligible employees receive company-provided benefits in accordance with plan terms and eligibility requirements. Benefits include health coverage, wellness resources, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and other company‑sponsored programs; parental leave is provided in accordance with applicable law.
