Position Summary
Delta Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Endoscopy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support physicians and nursing staff during endoscopy procedures, operate and maintain specialized equipment, and ensure a clean, safe, and sterile environment. This position provides care to patients of all ages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize procedure rooms and equipment, including endoscopes, before and after procedures.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses during endoscopy procedures.
- Perform safety checks and verify proper functioning of all equipment.
- Maintain and/or perform minor repairs on endoscopic equipment.
- Collect and transport specimens while maintaining strict sterile technique.
- Assist with patient intake, transport, documentation, and physician observation recordkeeping.
- Place patient monitoring devices such as blood pressure cuffs, electrodes, pulse oximetry sensors, cautery pads, and nasal cannulas.
- Participate in in-service training to maintain and enhance professional skills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities

- Basic understanding of endoscopy procedures and related clinical concepts.
- Flexibility and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read physician orders and interpret medical terminology.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Formal medical training or experience (e.g., LPN, CMA, Certified Surgical Technologist) required.
- CNA or non-certified Medical Assistant considered with at least 5 years of acute care experience .
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience , preferably in an ambulatory surgery center assisting with gastroenterology procedures.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
- Knowledge of communication techniques, teamwork principles, customer service standards, and quality improvement.
- Understanding of infection control procedures including PPE use, bloodborne pathogens, and biohazard waste handling.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., data entry) required.
