Job Title: Peer Support Specialist
Delta Counseling Associates is looking for a Peer Recovery Specialist to travel to multiple locations in Southeast Arkansas to provide support and guidance to individuals recovering from substance use disorders and mental health conditions. This position requires a self-motivated team player with excellent time management skills and great social skills.
Training is provided by the State of Arkansas after application approval, if not already certified as a Peer Recovery Specialist or a Peer in Training. Candidates for training must have a high school diploma and lived experience with substance abuse or mental health disorders and a commitment to recovery. Lived experience refers to the firsthand knowledge and understanding gained by individuals who have navigated personal challenges with mental health conditions and/or substance use disorders.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient peer support services to clients, primarily in a group setting.
- Work closely with adults who are receiving mental health and/or substance abuse services to provide encouragement, hope, advocacy, self-responsibility, and support that helps promote healing.
- Collaborate regularly with therapists and Peer Supervisors, to ensure services provided are effective and efficient.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation in compliance with insurance and HIPAA regulations.
