Construction Worker/Laborer

Delta Construction and Electric Company is a General Construction Company established in 1971. We have continued to grow and expand in a wide range of fields over the past 50 years, covering everything from industrial industries, solar projects, high rise offices, multi-use condominiums, and commercial manufacturing projects.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking hard-working and reliable construction workers to join our team. We are looking for candidates in the STOCKTON location You will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans and instructions from the Site Supervisor. Although experience isn't essential, you will have to be physically fit and a fast learner.

To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks. We strive to promote from within and are looking for team members who are eager to learn new skill sets and advance their career.

REQUIREMENTS:

Duties, Skills, and Responsibilities:

• Basic math skills ti calculations while measuring on job sites and to help the surveying crew.
• Preparing construction sites, materials, and tools.
• Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
• Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
• Assisting contractors, e.g. electricians and painters, as required.
• Assisting with transport and operation of heavy machinery and equipment.
• Assisting with site supervision.
• Mechanical skills to use the heavy machinery and equipment that is used regularly on construction sites.
• Physical strength when performing heavy labor that is required from construction workers such as lifting materials.
• Physical stamina in order to handle the long hours of performing strenuous work during the day in hot or cold weather.
• Framing experience preferred.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma, Trade School program is Preferred.
• 1-5 years of Construction experience or similar work experience is Required.
• Willingness to undertake training if necessary.
• Be a team player.
• Be healthy, strong, and fit.

Physical Demands:

• Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
• Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime when required.
• Must be able to climb ladders and steep stairs, crawl, stand, stoop bend, crouch, kneel, sit, and reach
• Must be able to routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing and pulling objects is required.
• Must be able to work at various heights up to 120 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
• Must be able to on a routine and repetitive basis walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
• Must possess good vision (may be correct vision) and must have the ability to see in color

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
