Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer – VMware & Windows Infrastructure to support and enhance our enterprise on-premises server environment. This includes VMware vSphere, Windows Server/Active Directory, Veeam backup operations, and physical server hardware management (Dell PowerEdge).
This engineer will play a critical role in maintaining high availability, performance, and security across mission-critical systems while partnering with networking, systems, and application teams to resolve escalated issues.
This is a 100% onsite, hands-on role ideal for a seasoned infrastructure engineer comfortable working across virtualization, Windows systems, hardware, storage, and backup environments.
Key Responsibilities
VMware Virtualization
- Deploy, configure, and manage VMware vSphere clusters, ESXi hosts, and virtual machines
- Perform resource allocation, performance tuning, and health monitoring
- Apply patches, upgrades, and follow strict change control
Windows Server Administration
- Install and maintain Windows Server 2019
- Manage DNS, DHCP, IIS, file/print services
- Implement OS hardening, patching, and CA/certificate management
Active Directory Management
- Administer users, groups, OUs, and GPOs
- Troubleshoot authentication and AD-integrated services
- Maintain DNS/DHCP dependencies
Backup & Recovery (Veeam)
- Configure and manage Veeam Backup & Replication
- Conduct restore testing, monitor job status, resolve failures
- Maintain retention and DR readiness
Physical Hardware Management
- Rack, cable, and configure Dell PowerEdge servers
- Run diagnostics, firmware upgrades, and hardware replacement
- Coordinate Dell warranty and support tickets
Documentation & Project Support
- Maintain system documentation and KB articles
- Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work with network, systems, and application teams on escalated issues
- Provide onsite support for urgent incidents
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 7 years of enterprise server infrastructure experience
- Strong hands-on VMware vSphere (8.0 ) experience
- Proficiency with Windows Server & Active Directory administration
- Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
- Hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge servers
- Familiarity with SAN/NAS storage & networking fundamentals
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
- Certifications such as:
- VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization)
- Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator (AZ-800/801)
- Dell Server/Storage certifications
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, automation, and scripting
- Experience migrating AD or O365 domains
- Knowledge of ITIL (Change/Incident Management)
- Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOX, PCI)
- Strong soft skills: communication, organization, teamwork
- 3 years of Big 4 consulting preferred
- Stable work history with large enterprise environments
Salary : $45 - $65
