Position Summary
We are seeking a GIS Analyst to support utility asset validation, geospatial analysis, and records management initiatives within a large-scale utility environment. This role will focus on identifying, validating, and correcting utility asset records through geospatial research, mapping technologies, and records analysis while ensuring alignment between field conditions and enterprise systems of record.
The ideal candidate brings strong GIS, mapping, analytical, and documentation skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies, perform root cause analysis, and improve the accuracy of utility asset records.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Perform desktop geospatial analysis to locate missing pole assets and validate pole identification records
β’ Utilize ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, Google Earth, Lidar, and related GIS tools to validate utility asset locations
β’ Research and identify missing records within enterprise systems including SAP, cGIS, and Circuit Mapping platforms
β’ Review field-captured photographs and supporting documentation to identify critical asset information
β’ Consolidate field evidence and research findings to support system-of-record corrections and asset record updates
β’ Review work order documentation and identify required information to support records validation activities
β’ Research discrepancies between field conditions and digital asset records and develop recommendations for corrective actions
β’ Perform root cause analysis, issue tracking, reporting, and documentation activities
β’ Create process documentation, workflow diagrams, and recommendations for operational improvements
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting utility asset management and records accuracy initiatives
β’ Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for project stakeholders

Required Skills & Experience
β’ Bachelor's degree required
β’ 2 years of experience using ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD Map 3D, ESRI, or related GIS technologies
β’ 2 years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel functions including VLOOKUP, IF statements, and data analysis techniques
β’ Experience working on or supporting cross-functional project teams
β’ Strong spatial reasoning skills with the ability to interpret maps, directions, and multiple sources of geographic information
β’ Experience performing root cause analysis, problem identification, solution evaluation, tracking, and reporting
β’ Experience creating technical documentation, process maps, workflows, and business recommendations
β’ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills
β’ Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field with a GIS emphasis
β’ Experience working within the utility industry
β’ Experience with SAP, ESRI, ArcGIS, SAS, or related records management systems
β’ Experience creating advanced reports, graphs, dashboards, and presentations
β’ Familiarity with utility asset management and infrastructure mapping
β’ 3 years of Big 4 consulting experience preferred
β’ Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
