The Mortgage Funder is responsible for ensuring the timely disbursement of loan proceeds and the accuracy of funding documents for first and second mortgages. The Mortgage Funder must apply knowledge of Delta Community Credit Union guidelines and compliance regulations to ensure documentation quality in funding and post-closing of all mortgage loans. This role is an instrumental part of the loan closing process since a funder is responsible for tasks that consummate the mortgage transaction and facilitate meeting closing deadlines, member expectations, and established service level standards of Delta Community Credit Union.

Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Essential Functions:
  • Review closed loan documents for accuracy in accordance with underwriting approval, funding requirements, mortgage compliance, and Credit Union requirements
  • Ensure wet-signed and e-signed first mortgage funding documents are accurately executed for issuance of funding numbers to Settlement Agents
  • Process wire transfer of loan proceeds to Settlement Agents and verify the completion of the wire transaction
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Payment Services, and/or Mortgage Servicing teams to reconcile any outstanding wire discrepancies
  • Review and validate all home equity loan closing documents from members
  • Follow-up on any missing documents required for the consummation of funding first mortgages and home equity loans
  • Complete the loan setup and funding of home equity loans and land lot loans in core banking system, Symitar
  • Process all applicable loan payoffs, payments, recording documents (including e-recording), and line of credit check orders
  • Post-close all home equity and land lot loans
  • Complete first and second mortgage daily uploads into FICS and Symitar.
  • Collaborate with the Credit Union Accounting and Mortgage Servicing departments to complete daily accounting reports and accurate home equity interest log
  • Review and accurately enter Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data in accordance with federal regulations
  • Communicate timely with members, Residential Lending staff, Credit Union support departments, settlement agents, county recording offices, etc. to facilitate the timely and accurate consummation of all mortgage loans
  • Research and reconcile funding or closing discrepancies
  • Maintain current knowledge of polices, guidelines, procedures, and compliance.

Job Qualifications


Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience working in a Credit Union or financial industry
  • 1 years’ experience with Symitar or similar core banking system
  • Computer skills with proficiency of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team and goal oriented
  • Self-starter, self-reliant, dependable, ability to work within and meet specific time constrains
  • Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in Mortgage Processing, Closing, Funding or Servicing
  • Prior use of Encompass Loan Origination System within the last 3 years
