This leadership role focuses on enhancing and maintaining the Workday Human Resource Management System (HRMS), ensuring it aligns with HR policies, operational priorities, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between HR, IT, Payroll, and stakeholder groups, driving scalable, high-quality system solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and optimize Workday HRMS modules, including Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Talent.
- Collaborate with HR Product Owners, agency leadership, and IT stakeholders to define and document detailed requirements for backlog items.
- Provide regular status updates to the Scrum Master, highlighting progress, risks, and blockers.
- Partner with configuration analysts to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into Workday configurations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the PRISM team and business partners, offering clear guidance and resolving questions related to system enhancements.
- Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, scenarios, and success criteria in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Coordinate the creation of training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Translate business requirements into well-defined user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Manage backlog updates to reflect ongoing progress and changes throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support release planning, including coordination with Workday bi-annual updates and deployment activities.
- Promote best practices in Workday system utilization to maximize value and minimize unnecessary customization.
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Human Resources Management System experience, preferably with Workday.
- Certification in Workday HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, or Payroll.
- 4 years supporting enterprise HRMS platforms.
- 4 years of experience with Agile or hybrid SDLC methodologies.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills within a matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven ability to deliver solutions rapidly.
- Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into system solutions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience working in a regulated or enterprise environment.
- Experience with PRISM Workday modules.
- Prior experience supporting HR systems in government or large enterprise sectors.
- Knowledge of Agile best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Workday bi-annual release cycles.
