The Healthcare Workforce Project Manager role focuses on advancing rural health workforce transformation through strategic planning, program development, and stakeholder engagement. This position involves managing complex initiatives related to healthcare workforce development, policy implementation, and data analysis within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs and implements workforce initiatives, including pre-employment and incumbent worker job training, career and technical education, and professional development programs.
- Develops, monitors, and manages contracts with subrecipients, grantees, and vendors to ensure program compliance and performance.
- Creates and maintains performance tracking and reporting systems to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Develops and applies program evaluation tools to measure outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Serves as a member of internal teams to ensure project compliance with requirements and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Manages engagement with state staff, private sector partners, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration.
- Facilitates internal and external communications, including contact management, email campaigns, website updates, and outreach via Constant Contact.
- Builds high-level subject-matter expertise in health system and workforce development planning, policy, and programs.
- Leads or supports initiatives to increase healthcare career awareness, develop career ladders, apprenticeships, and other pathways for career advancement.
- Analyzes health workforce data to inform policy and program development, supporting efforts to increase access, affordability, and completion of healthcare education.
- Provides workforce-related resources and support to colleagues across health and human services sectors, including behavioral health, oral health, and long-term care.
- Conducts research on state and national workforce and education policies to inform ongoing initiatives.
- Master’s degree from a recognized institution in Health Policy, Public Policy, Human Resources, Education, or a licensed health profession.
- Experience in workforce development, health policy, public health, program administration, or related fields.
- Thorough understanding of healthcare workforce stakeholders, including state agencies, providers, higher education, and community organizations.
- Significant knowledge of health workforce development principles, including policy, planning, research, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of factors limiting healthcare access and their impact on rural populations.
- General understanding of healthcare finance, delivery, and public health objectives.
- Excellent writing, public speaking, presentation, facilitation, research, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing complex healthcare workforce projects in a government or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and healthcare workforce data sources.
- Knowledge of rural health issues and strategies to improve healthcare access in underserved areas.
- Prior experience working with diverse stakeholder groups, including community-based organizations and professional associations.
