Cloud Specialist | Location: Jackson, MS | Contract

Key Responsibilities
- Designs, deploys, and maintains cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS or Azure, ensuring high availability and security.
- Supports cloud migration projects by assisting with the transition of on-premises systems to cloud environments.
- Implements automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.
- Integrates cloud services with existing on-premises systems to support hybrid cloud architectures.
- Monitors system performance, troubleshoots issues, and optimizes cloud operations to meet performance and security standards.
- Applies security configurations, manages access controls, and enforces data protection measures in accordance with regulatory frameworks.
- Maintains comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborates with security teams to implement and verify security controls aligned with industry standards.
- Supports backup, disaster recovery, and incident response planning within cloud environments.
- Minimum of 5-6 years of experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including deployment and support of cloud services.
- Proficiency with core cloud components including compute, storage, networking, and identity and access management.
- Experience with scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS routing and firewalls.
- Familiarity with security principles, access control, and data protection in cloud environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and support cloud-based systems in an enterprise setting.
- On-site work environment in Jackson, MS.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises systems with cloud services.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as NIST or IRS Publication 1075.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and performance management tools.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions in cloud environments.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working with Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), and cloud platform OS.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server and AWS RDS.
