Shipping Clerk

1st shift Mon-Fri 7:00am - 3:00pm

$22.00 - $ 25.00/hr DOE

Position Description: Responsible for proper packing and shipment of product and associated regulatory documentation, Accountability of all materials and shipment of product, Accountability of all materials and supplies received; keeping timely and accurate inventory information. Shipping and Receiving duties are major components of this position. Strong communication skills and a great attitude are vital, as this position interacts with all departments on a daily basis. The candidate for this position must have exemplary computer, math and organizational skills. Excel experience and/or prior experience preparing export documentation is highly desirable. Approximately 50% of time will be spent packing product in preparation for shipment and loading/unloading trucks.

Essential Functions:

· Accountable for generating/maintaining/preparing organized records of export documentation

· Knowledge of export compliance, and the ability to comply/maintain compliance w/ever-changing laws

· Responsible for receiving all supplies and purchased inventory and distributing them to the proper work areas. Verify accuracy of all receipts

· Set-up all freight shipments, both domestic and international

· Communicate with sales team and production to prioritize shipments as necessary.

· Maintain counts of all shipping containers to prevent shortage

· Accurately obtain freight quotes, knowing how something will be packaged in advance

Typical duties and tasks:

· Regular attendance

· Print orders for shipments

· Determine lot and quantity to ship; make copies for certifications

· Package and prepare shipments using ERP system and online shipping portals.

· Accurately prepare all required export documentation, including delivery notes, commercial invoices, certs, and certificate of origin.

· Package all shipments, including UPS, domestic & international freight shipments

· Load/unload trucks via forklift and/or manual material handler as required.

· Assist with weekly cycle counts as requested by Material Manager.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED;

· 2 years warehouse, inventory, or shipping experience

· Prior export shipping experience preferred including knowledge of incoterms, custom regulations and customs paperwork preparation.

· Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and outside vendors/suppliers

· Experience with material handling equipment (forklift) a plus

· Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment

· Detail oriented with above average organizational and communication skills.

· Microsoft Office and database knowledge; ERP/MRP system knowledge preferred

· Ability to lift up to 44 lbs. with assistance.

· Must speak and hear; visual acuity required to prepare and analyze data via computer terminal.

· Must be fluent in English.

· Ability to adjust work schedule and hours based on workload requirements, including overtime if necessary

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
