What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Breakfast Attendant position at Dells Hotels?
As a Breakfast Attendant, you’ll facilitate the breakfast operations to ensure quality service and standards whilst delivering a consistent product and superior service. You'll ensure compliance with all health, safety, brand and other requirements. In addition, you’ll provide quality service and standards whilst delivering a memorable guest experience. You'll ensure compliance with all health, safety, or other requirements. This position works from 5:30am until around noon (depending on how long it takes to clean up).
- You’ll make sure the breakfast offerings are prepared and presented according to the Brand and food safety standards. Maintained and stocked to appropriate quantities required by demand.
- Make sure food and drinks are secure and stored safely - always keep stock replenished to minimize waste.
- Safety aware – always follow our established safety procedures - and wear protective equipment when needed.
- Assist with controlling expenses with a focus on food, beverage and supply rotation, dating, proper usage and preparation techniques. Being organized - keep on top of supplies and products, always trying to minimize waste.
- Following all local, regional and federal laws regarding the responsible and safe service of food and beverage products.
- Give guests a better experience by helping with any queries or advice.
- Other ad-hoc duties, assisting in other departments as demand dictates.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments as per hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
- Help with washing dishes, preparing items, cleaning, serving and other kitchen duties when needed.
- Make sure all food and beverage equipment is in operational condition and regularly cleaned.
- Cleaning of breakfast area including: wiping down tables, taking out garbage, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
What we need from you
- It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day, walking or standing. Strength – with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and/ or push/ pulling heavy objects. Bending twisting, kneeling, stooping and stretching in repeated movement throughout the shift.
- Manual dexterity – use of your hands to control and handle cooking and serving utensils.
- Compliant – as well as meeting local laws on food handling.
- Flexibility – weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, understand and articulate information to the guests, co-workers, supervisors and managers.
- Strong time management skills and a proven history of workplace punctuality. Self-directed and motivated.
- Attention to detail and meticulous cleaning and safety habits.
