Logistics Coordinator – Fresh Produce Distribution

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to oversee the daily coordination of inbound and outbound warehouse operations while ensuring the timely movement of fresh, perishable products. Ample experience working in a produce, food distribution, perishables, refrigerated warehouse, or import/export environment and understands the urgency required when handling fresh products.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of domestic and imported fresh produce.
• Schedule transportation with trucking companies, freight carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, steamship lines, and suppliers.
• Coordinate warehouse receiving appointments and outbound customer deliveries.
• Track shipments from origin through final delivery while maintaining accurate shipment status updates.
• Review and maintain shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), Purchase Orders, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Arrival Notices, Delivery Orders, and Proof of Delivery (POD).
• Coordinate import documentation and customs clearance while ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, CBP, and food safety regulations.
• Monitor refrigerated shipments to maintain cold chain integrity and ensure products remain within required temperature specifications.
• Communicate daily with Sales, Warehouse Operations, Production, Customers, Vendors, and Transportation Providers regarding shipment status, scheduling, delays, and delivery appointments.
• Coordinate container pickups, port appointments, drayage carriers, and warehouse deliveries while minimizing demurrage and storage costs.
• Monitor carrier performance, delivery schedules, freight costs, and transportation exceptions.
• Resolve shipment discrepancies, transportation delays, documentation issues, and customer concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate shipment records using Produce Pro (PPRO), Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other logistics systems.
• Support inventory accuracy by coordinating receiving activities and ensuring proper shipment documentation.
• Assist with continuous process improvements to increase logistics efficiency and reduce transportation costs.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in Logistics, Transportation, Warehouse Coordination, Supply Chain, Shipping & Receiving, or Import/Export.
• Experience working with fresh produce, food distribution, perishables, refrigerated transportation, cold storage, or wholesale produce is strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
• Working knowledge of import/export procedures and customs documentation.
• Knowledge of FDA, USDA, CBP, food safety, and cold chain requirements.
• Experience scheduling carriers, freight companies, warehouse appointments, and customer deliveries.
• Experience with Bills of Lading (BOL), Purchase Orders, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Delivery Orders, and shipping documentation.
• Understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, and shipment tracking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Produce Pro (PPRO), ERP, WMS, SAP, NetSuite, or similar logistics software is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to visit inside refrigerated areas when needed
• Comfortable working around fresh produce inventory when needed

Compensation:

• Competitive pay based on experience

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 AM- 5:30 PM (in-person). WE DO NOT OFFER REMOTE

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
