Purpose of Position:
Del Monte Foods is the Foods Division of Fresh Del Monte, a global grower, producer and marketer of fresh, value-added, and shelf-stable produce. Del Monte Foods has a powerful portfolio of brands, including the iconic Del Monte®, Contadina® and S&W®. We are currently seeking an Distribution Coordinator. The Distribution Coordinator is responsible for receiving and shipping counter operations, including data entry, clerical accuracy reviews, and document management. This role ensures accurate shipping and receiving records within SAP and Red Prairie while supporting efficient utilization of DC truck doors and maintaining compliance with corporate records retention standards.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain carrier driver sign-in logs and control issuance of Bills of Lading to assigned carrier drivers.
- Update daily work schedule worksheet for issued and completed receiving and shipping activities.
- Maintain Dock Audit activity database and provide periodic reports to supervisors and managers.
- Perform data entry of all receiving and shipping documents; review documentation for required signatures and sufficiency.
- Contact CSR for orders requiring adjustments; make appropriate changes and inform CSR of all revisions.
- Investigate shipping and receiving discrepancies; notify Inventory Control and applicable plant of discrepancies.
- Perform daily filing of shipping and receiving documents; coordinate periodic rotation of files to permanent storage per corporate records retention standards.
- Assign dock doors with Shift Supervisor approval to ensure efficient use of receiving and shipping doors.
- Monitor changes to shipping and receiving documents and communicate changes to appropriate CSR.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors, checkers, carrier drivers, and DC lift truck operators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills Required:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), SAP, and Red Prairie
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Access
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good attention to detail, working in a timely and accurate manner
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong work ethic with ability to work under deadlines including occasional weekends
- Good teamwork skills
- At least 1 year of appointment desk experience or related experience, preferably in a Distribution Center environment.
- Prior experience in a distribution center environment
- Familiarity with dock operations and carrier management
