Position: Grounds Keeper/ Landscape Technician
Department: Maintenance
Employment Status: Full time, Exempt
Class: Full-Time
Location: Bartlesville, OK
Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance Director
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Groundskeeper / Landscape Technician is responsible for maintaining and improving the
appearance, safety, and functionality of the Tribe’s outdoor grounds and landscaping. This position
performs routine groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, planting, irrigation maintenance,
and the regular removal of debris and trash to maintain clean and safe grounds, as well as seasonal
landscaping tasks. The Groundskeeper / Landscape Technician works under the supervision of the
Maintenance Director to ensure all tribal properties and facilities present a clean, safe, and welcoming
environment for staff, tribal members, and visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of landscaping equipment and grounds maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate lawn care equipment and basic tools safely.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all tribal grounds including lawns, flower beds, trees, and shrubs.
- Perform mowing, edging, trimming, and weed control on a routine basis.
- Perform routine grounds maintenance including debris and trash pickup to ensure a
clean, safe, and presentable environment.
- Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Maintain irrigation systems and assist with repairs as needed.
- Remove debris, leaves, trash, and other materials from outdoor areas.
- Maintain sidewalks, walkways, and outdoor areas to ensure a clean and safe
environment.
- Assist with seasonal landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, and winter
preparation.
- Maintain and operate landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and
other tools.
- Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with safety guidelines and
regulations.
- Assist with snow removal, ice control, and other weather-related maintenance as
needed.
- Help maintain parking areas, outdoor seating areas, and public spaces across tribal
facilities.
- Identify and report safety hazards or maintenance needs to the Maintenance Director.
- Work cooperatively with other maintenance staff to support facility operations.
- Follow all tribal policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
