General Description of the Job
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work closely with the Principal Investigator to develop targeted small protein therapeutics that aim to induce an immune response by targeting specific proteins in cancer cells using biochemical and molecular biology techniques.

Essential Functions
The following are the functions essential to performing this job.
1. Develops, executes, and validates small protein and peptides that has high affinity and selectivity for TNBC cells
2. Prepares manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and conferences
3. Performs literature studies and writes technical reports
4. Assist in training and mentoring lab personnel, including graduate and undergraduate students.
5. Organizes and attends research group and sub-group meetings.
Other Functions
Individual in this job may be assigned one or more of the following tasks on a rotating or as-needed basis,
1. Oversees drug discovery projects and works with other lab members
2. Presents the lab’s research work at regional, national, and international scientific meetings and conferences
3. Attends workshops/seminars on protein engineering and discovery
4. Attends workshops/seminars on computational aided drug discovery
5. To improve professional development, he/she may have to take some teaching responsibilities in chemistry department
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The individual in this job must possess these skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodation, or using some other combination of skills and abilities.
1. Demonstrated experience in protein engineering, expression, purification, and biochemical characterization
2. Demonstrated experience in cell-based assays such as ELISA , flow cytometry binding, BLI
3. Expertise in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, mutagenesis, DNA extraction, gel electrophoresis
4. Knowledge of protein/antibody discovery and optimization using in vitro display (such as phage or yeast) technology
5. Expertise in two-hybrid assay screening, focusing on studying molecular interactions, such as protein-protein, protein-DNA, and protein-RNA interactions
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
7. Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
8. Works well as part of a diverse, multicultural team
Qualification Standards
1. Education: PhD or Masters (with relevant experience) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or related areas
2. Demonstrated experience in expression, purification, characterization and optimization of recombinant proteins.
3. Independently design, execute, and troubleshoot SPR and BLI-based assays, including binding kinetics, blocking, affinity, competition, and epitope binning
4. Other preferences: Familiarity with de novo protein design

2. Demonstrates ability to manage day-to-day operations of the project per directives of PI
