REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Affairs

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold or be eligible for an instructional paraeducator permit.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with children, especially in an educational setting with diverse learning styles and needs.
Ability to work collaboratively with Academy staff.
Ability to quickly adjust to changing environments and/or new assignments.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:
Work with teachers to implement lesson plans, provide one-on-one or small group support, and assist in reinforcing concepts taught in the classroom.
Monitor student behavior, help with classroom management, and ensure a safe, positive, and productive learning environment.
Follow and assist in the implementation of students' IEPs by providing tailored support to students with special needs.
Help administer assessments, track student progress, and document data related to student performance.
Support students during non-classroom activities, such as recess, lunch, and field trips, ensuring students' social and emotional needs are met.
Communicate regularly with teachers to provide updates on student progress, challenges, and behaviors. Assist in developing strategies to help students succeed.
Help implement strategies for managing behaviors and assisting students in developing appropriate social and behavioral skills.
Work directly with students who have physical, emotional, or learning disabilities, providing tailored instruction, behavioral support, and emotional assistance.
Support students in social interactions, helping them develop social skills and emotional regulation techniques in and outside the classroom.
Help with group work or guided reading/math activities, ensuring that students remain on task and understand the material.
Assist in reinforcing literacy and numeracy skills for students who need additional help.
Prepare materials and resources that are aligned with lesson plans, ensuring students have the tools they need for successful learning.
Perform other duties as assigned.
