Position Summary
The Visitor Services Coordinator is a key member of the DelNature core staff team, responsible for coordinating visitor services and ensuring a welcoming experience for members, the community, and Riverfront guests at the DuPont Environmental Education Center (DEEC). This role promotes membership, volunteer engagement, and program participation while overseeing the scheduling and support of Visitor Services staff.
The Coordinator also performs essential administrative and operational duties, including assisting with general office functions and support to staff and volunteers, assisting with lobby design and upkeep, and maintaining activities and interpretive displays. In addition, this position provides on-site leadership by serving as the site team lead when full-time staff are off-site and
This position reports to the DEEC Site Director and works closely with the Office Manager at Ashland Nature Center.
Responsibilities
- Provides customer service by answering phones and assisting walk-ins. Actively introduces visitors to membership and program opportunities, distributes literature to non-members. Answers queries associated with member programs, memberships, public group programs as well as any other calls pertaining to activities at the Center.
- Works with program staff on developing and maintaining lobby displays; maintains literature racks and sells logo items. Maintains lobby organization and neatness.
- Coordinates Visitor Services staff and volunteer schedules. Secures substitutes when needed. Approve timecards.
- Serves as site lead when full-time staff are not present.
- Works with the program manager in providing animal care.
- Submits monthly reports to the finance department.
- Maintains supply room; orders office and facility supplies.
- Asists members and the public with registration and program questions. Supports program management in Altru.
- Manages office equipment.
- Assists with A/V and meeting room setup. Coordinates with Riverfront Development Corporation scheduling of facility rentals.
- Supports site events as requested.
- Works with Ashland Office Manager, Visitor Services Coordinator and DEEC Site Director hiring VSA staff and in developing and delivering VSA trainings and educational opportunities.
- Assists with, participates in, and supports organization-wide events and programs and other site programs as available.
- Promotes & supports DelNature’s mission, values, goals, activities, and membership to a wide array of program audiences.

Work Schedule
This is a part-time, hourly position with a four day a week schedule (9:45-4:15) including Saturdays 2-3 times/month.

Salary and Compensation
Starting hourly rate of $20.00/hour. Average weekly schedule not to exceed 26 hours.
