Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in nursing with a strong background in nursing home operations, and healthcare management. As the Director of Nursing Services, you will oversee all clinical functions, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote exceptional resident care through effective leadership and strategic planning.
Duties
- Provide comprehensive oversight of nursing operations, ensuring delivery of high-quality care tailored to residents’ individual needs.
- Supervise nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and competent team.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations including HIPAA privacy standards and Medicare guidelines.
- Oversee documentation review and medical records management using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care across various services such as home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Monitor quality assurance metrics related to resident safety, medication management, and documentation accuracy while implementing continuous improvement strategies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy to support clinical decision-making and staff education on medical terminology and care procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursing home management or assisted living environments with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Supervising experience in a healthcare setting with strong skills in nurse management and nursing administration.
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations, Medicaid requirements, and compliance standards relevant to senior care facilities.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and resident care planning processes.
- Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
