Position: Art & Community Coach/Direct Support Professional
Salary: $40,352 yearly
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday 9AM-5:30PM (Hours may vary)
Location: Walton, New York
Responsibilities:
- To provide person-centered support by fostering creativity, inclusion, and self-expression through participation in art studio activities and community art events.
Job Duties:
- Teach and support people utilizing individualized teaching techniques.
- Advocate with people to live their best life (making choices, enhancing confidence & assertiveness)
- Work cooperatively with other staff, artists, individual team members, and community partners to deliver a cohesive, person-centered program.
- Work as a Direct Support Professional as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Creative problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to make good decisions quickly, based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
- Organized, solution-oriented, and adaptable.
- Competent in active listening, teaching, curriculum development, task analysis, behavior management, person-centered planning, and advocacy.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License with acceptable driving record..
- CPR & First Aid preferred (training available for the right candidate).
