What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach position at Delaware County Intermediate Unit?
The job of Job Coach - Part Time was established for the purpose/s of developing student/client training plans and instruct, train, and orient students regarding job duties and responsibilities; appropriate behavior; job skills and safety throughout the community at the job site.
Essential Functions
- Communicates with student/client prior to initial placement for the purpose of explaining job expectations and duties.
- Conduct various job analysis (e.g. skills requires, tasks, job duties and responsibilities) for the purpose of gauging appropriate placements.
- Facilitate relationships between coworkers, employer, employee for the purpose of ensuring positive and supportive communications.
- Monitor progress of student/client (e.g. regular on the job visits, logs of strengths, needs, strategies, performance and productivity) for the purpose of ensuring a successful student and placement.
- Perform work tasks not completed by student/client for the purpose of ensuring completion of the job.
- Report problems and concerns to job coordinator for the purpose of reaching a timely resolution.
- Solve student/client related job difficulties at the job site for the purpose of maintaining ongoing student/client success.
- Teach student/client self-evaluation methods for the purpose of maintaining a successful placement.
- Discuss appropriate grooming with students for the purpose of following established employer dress code.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- A minimum of 10 hours is required per week, not to exceed 24 hours per week.
- If you are an internal candidate, there is a cap of 5 hours per week available.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training experience in Job Coaching and/or experience with students with disabilities
- Ability to work some holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Must have a valid driver's license, car insurance, and access to reliable vehicle.
- Preferred availability M-F, daytime hours.
