Position Summary



Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dynamic Assistant Director of Admissions 9External Liaison) to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.

The Assistant Director of Admissions (External Liaison) position at Delaware County Community College is a vital role focused on the recruitment of prospective students. This position requires the external liaison to actively engage with students, families, and community organizations both within the office and in various external settings. The primary responsibility is to represent the college effectively, disseminating crucial information regarding admissions processes, financial aid options, and academic opportunities available at the institution. The performance of the Assistant Director directly influences new student enrollment levels, which in turn impacts the financial health of the college. A successful execution of this role enhances not only enrollment figures but also the overall reputation of Delaware County Community College. The Assistant Director will undertake frequent recruitment trips in Delaware and Chester Counties, which includes visiting high schools and organizations, attending college fairs as well as community events and other outreach initiatives. This travel is essential for territory management and involves maintaining contact and engaging with prospective students, families, and community partners. The External Liaison will support the Office of Admissions by assisting with student communications, both in-office and during travel. The role also includes evaluating recruitment visits, documenting findings, and providing feedback to leadership to improve recruitment strategies. While most of the work will occur outside the office, the External Liaison may also be tasked with various responsibilities related to other recruitment cycle and territory management on campus. These tasks may include coordinating Instant Decision Days, assistance with on-and-off-site recruitment receptions, as well as supporting application completion campaigns. The Assistant Director will also integrate territory management functions into Salesforce CRM, ensuring a streamlined recruitment process. Travel expenses will be reimbursed following the submission of expense reports. Frequent nights and weekends required during peak seasons. While this position will include frequent local travel, permanent office hours maybe required at any of the branch locations.

Essential Functions



  • Recruit traditional, post-traditional, special populations, and dual enrollment students to attend the College.
  • Participate in frequent day, evening, and weekend recruitment programs for the purpose of generating interest in the College through in-person and online presentations and the distribution of timely information.
  • Enhance prospects, admitted students and parents/guardians understanding of the College’s enrollment processes, including next steps (e.g., orientation, course placement, academic advising), College technology, payment method (payment plans, payment due dates), timely completion of of financial aid applications and the importance of meeting deadlines.
  • Ensure that prospective students are scheduled for placement testing and advising appointments and have completed their FAFSA and orientation.
  • Contact students who have filled out an application but have yet to register for the following semester to assist with the registration process.
  • Coordinate and conduct-on-campus tours for potential prospects and applicants including individuals, families, high schools, and community groups.
  • Work closely with designated high school counselors and staff at community based and other identified organizations in a specific territory to recruit students and assist them with the admissions and financial aid application processes.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment plans to attract diverse student populations.
  • Use the College’s CRM and other technologies to track students through the enrollment funnel.
  • Contribute to the Admissions Department in other initiatives and activities, as necessary.
  • Work closely with high school principals, high school counselors and branch campus administrators for the support of dual enrollment initiatives.
  • Use data to monitoreffectiveness,measureoutcomes,andadaptprocess,procedures,andactivities accordingly.
  • Recruit and assist students participating in dual enrollment to transition from high school to the College by connecting them with the appropriate college services.
  • Utilize the Target X/Salesforce’s dashboard and reporting modules to evaluate yield or conversion rates from inquiry, applicant to enrollment stage.
  • Prepare weekly reports highlighting recruitment outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic collaborator who will have demonstrated knowledge of strategies, theories, and best practices associated with college recruitment, and admissions. The Assistant Director of Admission will also actively participate in creating an environment that encourages, models, embraces, and incorporates diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive atmosphere and drive results.


Experience & Education



Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 1-2yearsofrelated filed experience. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage independent travel. Flexibility to adapt to changing travel assignments and availability during nights and weekends. Ability to communicate in English and Spanish fluency is preferred. Preference will be given to bilingual candidates. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education or other related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
