Job Description
The Weekend Direct Care Worker provides compassionate, non-medical support services to clients in their homes during weekend hours. This role ensures the safety, comfort, and independence of clients while delivering high-quality care in alignment with the client’s care plan. Weekend staff are essential to supporting clients who require consistent care outside of standard weekday hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Provide light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery assistance.
- Offer companionship and social interaction to reduce isolation.
- Assist with errands, transportation, or recreational activities as assigned.
- Observe and promptly report any changes in client condition or environment.
- Accurately document care provided per agency standards and regulations.
- Follow all client care plans, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and client dignity at all times.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Completion of caregiver training program or competency evaluation (per state regulations).
- At least 6 months of prior caregiving or direct care experience preferred.

- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance (if transporting clients).
- Must pass all background checks, reference checks, and required health screenings.
Work Schedule
- Weekend Shifts Only (Saturday and Sunday).
- Flexible availability for morning, afternoon, evening or overnight weekend shifts.
- Opportunities for additional weekday shifts may be available, but weekends are the primary requirement.
- This is an hourly position; one mandatory quarterly Saturday meeting per quarter for 2 hours remote or in-person (4 per year)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist clients (up to 50 lbs. with assistance).
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to work in clients’ home environments with varying conditions.
