The Assistant Athletic Director supports the Director of Athletics & Activities in the overall leadership, coordination, and year-round management of DeLaSalle’s interscholastic athletic programs. This role emphasizes strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a commitment to enhancing the experience of student-athletes, coaches, and the broader DeLaSalle community.
Director of Student Activities
Program & Event Administration
- Assist in scheduling practices, contests, officials, and transportation.
- Coordinate and supervise game-day operations, including ticketing, security, concessions, custodial support, athletic trainers, and event staff.
- Attend and manage home events as assigned to ensure a safe, organized, and positive environment.
- Assist with tournament logistics, paperwork, and fees.
- Maintain athletic eligibility forms, rosters, and compliance with MSHSL regulations.
Student & Coach Support
- Manage student eligibility under MSHSL policies and season sports registration.
- Support onboarding of new coaches, including contracts, certifications, background checks, First Aid/CPR compliance, and ongoing training requirements.
- Assist in communication with families, faculty, and staff regarding schedules, dismissals, and program logistics.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of student and family information.
Communications & Community Engagement
- Manage and update athletic department social media accounts, website pages, and digital communications.
- Publicize athletic events, results, and achievements through various media outlets.
- Coordinate special events such as awards banquets, signing days, and recognition ceremonies.
Compliance & Safety
- Monitor and enforce athletic codes of conduct, eligibility, and sportsmanship standards.
- Ensure compliance with Title IX, MSHSL, and school regulations.
- Coordinate accident/injury reporting and follow-up in accordance with school policy.
- Strong knowledge of athletics administration, event management, and student-athlete development.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to balance competing demands.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and collaboration.
- Proficiency with scheduling and athletic platforms such as ArbiterSports, rSchoolToday, and Hudl.
- Experience managing websites and social media for communication and promotion.
- Competence with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (education, sports management, or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in athletics administration, coaching, or event management strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex schedules and supervise staff.
- Must hold or be eligible for a valid driver’s license.
- Year-round position.
- Flexible hours required, including evenings and weekends.
- Presence at athletic events both indoors and outdoors, in all seasons.
- Travel required to contests, conferences, and professional meetings.
