What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Counselor position at DeLand Treatment Solutions?
DeLand Treatment Solutions invites bachelor and master level counselors to join our clinical team! We are a community-based treatment program that provides individualized care to clients seeking practical and sustainable recovery. We offer inpatient detox and residential treatment.
The position is full-time 11am to 7pm Sunday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday off.
We are looking for counselors who enjoy providing group therapy to adults with mental health and substance use diagnoses. Our ideal candidate will work well as a clinical team member and have strong experience running evidence-based residential group therapy services. Experience using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a plus. The ability to use an evidence-based clinical model for all groups is essential.
Candidates with backgrounds in facility-based, dual-diagnosis services are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, nursing, education or a related human services field; OR master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, etc.
2. Experience in behavioral health setting especially running PHP or IOP group therapy using an evidence-based clinical model
3. Ability to express oneself clearly to staff and clients in a professional manner
4. Ability to use EMR efficiently related to group and individual notes, intake assessments, concurrent reviews
Responsibilities
- Conduct intake assessments, biopsychosocial assessments, concurrent reviews and related documentation to evaluate patient's ongoing needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote peer support and recovery.
- Provide behavioral therapy and addiction counseling to patients, using evidence-based practices.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and support.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
