At St. John's Recovery Place (SJRP), we are a leading medical detoxification and residential treatment center in peaceful Crescent City, Florida. Nestled on acres of tranquil grounds with views of Crescent Lake, our facility provides safe, evidence-based care for individuals battling drug and alcohol addiction, as well as co-occurring disorders. Our holistic, integrated approach addresses both substance use disorders and underlying mental health issues simultaneously, empowering clients through compassionate support, teaching life skills, inspiring hope, guiding recovery, and helping them rebuild fulfilling lives with a strong foundation for long-term sobriety and well-being.
We are currently hiring passionate Primary Counselors at various levels:
- Licensed professionals (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LMFT)
- Registered Interns (e.g., RMHCI, RCSWI)
- Student Interns (Master's-level in counseling/related fields)
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to holistic addiction recovery and integrated mental health care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized counseling and crisis support to clients in detox and residential phases, including those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions focused on addiction education, coping skills, relapse prevention, and mental health management.
- Develop, implement, and update personalized treatment plans that address both addiction and co-occurring disorders, in collaboration with medical, clinical, and support teams.
- Maintain thorough, compliant documentation (HIPAA, state regulations, CARF standards).
- For interns: Receive structured supervision while contributing to client care and gaining hands-on experience in a real-world detox, residential, and dual diagnosis treatment setting.
Qualifications We Value:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field (preferred; required for licensed/registered roles).
- Active Florida licensure (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) or registration as an intern (RMHCI, RCSWI); student interns currently enrolled in accredited Master's programs are encouraged to apply.
- Experience or strong interest in substance use disorder treatment, mental health counseling, and integrated care for co-occurring disorders/dual diagnosis (e.g., CBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care).
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills to foster trust with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage caseloads, documentation, and multiple priorities.
- Deep empathy, cultural competence, and genuine passion for supporting individuals on their recovery journey from addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
