Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: VP of Operations
About the Role
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and sustaining a strong safety culture across Del Real Foods. This role oversees all safety, environmental, and risk management programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication, training, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and enforce all safety, food safety, and regulatory compliance programs (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, SQF, USDA, FDA).
Manage safety programs including IIPP, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, Hazard Analysis, Forklift Safety, and emergency response.
Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA logs.
Manage Food Defense and the company’s Security Program.
Oversee environmental programs (Wastewater, Storm Water, CalARP, HAZMAT, SDS, EPA Manifest).
Support Workers’ Compensation and other risk management processes.
Coordinate and support internal and third-party audits.
Qualifications
5 years of EHS experience (Food Industry preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety (preferred).
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Strong leadership, training, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety/environmental regulations, including Cal/OSHA.
Physical & Work Environment
Ability to work in both office and production environments, including cold, hot, loud, and humid conditions.
Occasional walking, standing, bending, lifting, and exposure to varying temperatures.
