Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to act as a college liaison between Del Mar College (DMC) and the high school districts located in and out of DMC’s service area. The Early College Program (ECP) department works with all 43 districts/51 high schools to recruit and enroll high school students into DMC courses for college credit and continuing education course work while simultaneously attending high school.
The Dual Enrollment Specialist will assist students with all aspects of the DMC admissions enrollment process, work with DMC department faculty, Chairs and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Three (3) years related experience working with high school student population.
Valid Driver License with ability to obtain a Texas Driver License within 90 days of hire and be insurable by Del Mar College.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Advanced skills and knowledge in program design and implementation: This involves a deep understanding of educational programs and processes, including how they are structured and executed.
Independent judgment and decision-making abilities: The coordinator must be able to make sound decisions autonomously, especially when faced with complex situations or challenges.
Strong written and verbal communication skills: Effective communication is key for liaising between DMC, high schools, faculty, and staff; this includes being able to convey information clearly and concisely through various mediums.
Proficiency in computer programming, software development, or statistical procedures could be advantageous, especially in managing data or analyzing program effectiveness.
Flexibility with schedule: The ability to work nights and occasional weekends is necessary to accommodate meetings, events, or activities that may occur outside regular business hours.
Must be available to visit schools in and around the Coastal Bend area, the candidate should be willing and able to travel as needed to fulfill job duties effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of programs of study at DMC.
Knowledge of college readiness and recruitment strategies that affect access to education and retention.
Skilled in developing student leadership.
Experience with dual enrollment students.
Demonstrated ability to work with a various constituency of faculty and staff across all academic and administrative units within secondary and postsecondary institutions.
Additional Language Skills Of Spanish.

Coordinate and develop annual dual enrollment calendar to include deadlines, dates and informational presentations.
Deliver dual enrollment presentations both at the high schools and on college campus that include credit and continuing education (CE) course work.
Work with the ECP and CE Directors to calendar yearly events and work to improve information outflow and streamline processes for dual enrollment.
Job Duty
Participate in DMC recruitment/outreach activities including onsite college advising and registrations at high schools, admission workshops, community events and campus tours.
Review and process dual enrollment applications, and registrations for dual enrollment courses.
Managing assigned school missing document list.
Coordinate with DMC’s Student Enrollment Center on the status of dual enrollment students in processing of registrations.
Job Duty
Meet with parents, students, and ISD personnel to facilitate enrollments throughout the year.
Respond to inquiries from both students and high school personnel.
Keep high schools and districts informed of upcoming deadlines, policy changes and important college information.
Work with DMC Chairs and faculty to meet the needs of the various ISD’s.
Serve as a member of committees and other various college-wide advisory boards as assigned.
