The Car Wash Assistant (Manager-in-Training) is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the full operation of two car wash properties, including self-serve bays and automatic wash systems. This position is designed for an individual who will be trained to take over management responsibilities in the future. What You’ll Do
Safety:
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
- Assist in the daily operation of two car wash locations, including self-serve and automatic wash systems
- Ensure both properties are fully operational, safe, and customer-ready at all times
- Travel between locations as needed to address operational needs
- Assist customers with using wash equipment and selecting services
- Handle customer questions, complaints, and service issues professionally
- Provide refunds or resolve issues when necessary
- Maintain a positive customer experience at both locations
- Perform routine inspections on all equipment, including pumps, motors, vacuums, coin/bill acceptors, and automatic wash systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing)
- Handle minor plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and line maintenance
- Report and assist with coordinating major repairs when needed
- Maintain logs of maintenance and repair activities
- Keep both properties clean, organized, and presentable at all times
- Clean wash bays, tunnels, vacuum areas, vending areas, and surrounding grounds
- Remove trash, monitor property conditions, and address safety hazards
- Ensure each location meets cleanliness and operational standards
- Collect, count, and reconcile cash from coin boxes, bill acceptors, and vending machines
- Maintain accurate daily records of revenue and deposits
- Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities
- Assist in tracking financial performance of both locations
- Monitor and restock soaps, waxes, chemicals, and repair parts
- Stock and maintain vending machines (cleaning products, towels, etc.)
- Assist with ordering inventory and ensuring proper stock levels
- Organize storage areas and track supply usage
- Learn all aspects of managing multiple car wash locations
- Assist with operational decision-making and problem-solving
- Take on increasing responsibility in daily operations
- Prepare to assume full management duties, including oversight of both properties
- Full-time, including weekends and holidays as needed
- On-call availability for emergencies and equipment issues
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude (experience with equipment repair, plumbing, or electrical preferred)
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to handle cash and maintain accurate records
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently
- Willingness to travel between multiple locations
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
- While on the job, employees must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders and comfortable with heights (due to potential roof repairs)
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Requires use of hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling and turning
- No travel required for this position.
