Duties

• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using infection control and aseptic techniques
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and intraoral images, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
• Manage patient records using Eaglesoft to ensure accurate documentation and coding, while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
• Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
• Monitor vital signs when necessary
• Support administrative tasks by acting as a dental receptionist-scheduling appointments, updating medical records and assisting with patient check-in/out processes
• Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and ensuring that all dental tools are properly sterilized

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or certification required, including XRAY certification; additional certifications in coronal polishing and nitrous oxide monitoring are highly desirable
• Skilled in chairside assisting techniques to enhance workflow efficiency; ability to perform and support dentistry practices with patience and professionalism
• Proficiency with Eaglesoft is a plus but not a requirement
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients
• Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
