Duties
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly using infection control and aseptic techniques
- Take high-quality dental x-rays and intraoral images, including 3D scans, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Manage patient records using Eaglesoft to ensure accurate documentation and coding, while maintaining strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort
- Monitor vital signs when necessary
- Support administrative tasks by acting as a dental receptionist-scheduling appointments, updating medical records and assisting with patient check-in/out processes
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by following infection control standards and ensuring that all dental tools are properly sterilized
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or certification required, including XRAY certification; additional certifications in coronal polishing and nitrous oxide monitoring are highly desirable
- Skilled in chairside assisting techniques to enhance workflow efficiency; ability to perform and support dentistry practices with patience and professionalism
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft is a plus but not a requirement
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy and medical terminology to communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Knowledge of dental anatomy, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records management and confidentiality standards in healthcare settings
