What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Builder position at Dek Kat Boats?
Position Overview
- Assembles fiberglass hulls, decks and small parts, and components into a completed boat
- Installs decks, hardware, bilge system, hoses, tanks, etc.
- Performs electrical assembly of consoles, connects wiring and components
- Uses a variety of hand tools, power tools, grinders, and other equipment
- Ability to work following specific instructions, reading, and writing are required
- Application of sealants, adhesives, and primers
- Proper disposal and cleaning practices are strictly maintained
Physical Requirements
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, including masks, gloves, and suits
- Ability to work a 10 hour shift, standing, bending, and reaching
- Moderate lifting up to 50lbs
- Ability to work in a on climate-controlled environment
- Ability to work in a fiberglass dust environment and a fast-paced noisy environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must always follow all safety and quality standards, including chemical handling standards and PPE
- Ability to use a variety oh hand and pneumatic tools
- Knowledge of fasteners, nuts, bolts, screws, etc.
- Ability to understand a communicate verbal and written instructions
- Basic skills in forklift, overhead hoist, computer and electrical components preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $20.00 per hour
