Our operations span multiple states, but our NYC division is rapidly expanding, requiring a strong commercial estimator with the ability to build structure, secure new work, and support strategic growth.We maintain a structured, process-driven workplace culture emphasizing professionalism, accuracy, communication, and accountability.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to lead and grow our NYC commercial division. The ideal candidate has a successful and verifiable track record of securing private commercial contracts ranging from $100,000 to $2,000,000 within New York City.This individual will be responsible for identifying opportunities, preparing detailed estimates, responding to ITBs and RFPs, and building relationships with developers, general contractors, architects, building owners, property managers, and business owners.This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify bid opportunities and review ITBs, RFPs, and bid packages from developers, GCs, architects, and property owners.Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, pricing, and cost breakdowns for commercial interiors and finish trades, including drywall, framing, flooring, millwork, painting, and general renovations.Develop and formalize estimating systems, bid logs, follow-up procedures, and standardized proposal templates for the NYC commercial division.Build and maintain relationships with key partners in the private commercial sector throughout NYC.Prepare complete bid submissions including clarifications, alternates, scope narratives, and supplementary documents.Attend walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and site visits as required.Coordinate internally with company leadership for strategy, pricing structure, and new market development.Track bid performance, maintain competitiveness analysis, and adapt strategies to maximize win rates.Support client onboarding, contract negotiation preparation, and post-award handoff to project management teams.QualificationsProven, verifiable track record of securing private commercial contracts from $100,000 to $2,000,000 in New York City is required.Candidates must list specific projects won in their résumé.5–10 years of estimating experience in the NYC commercial market, preferably with subcontractors or GCs specializing in interiors.Strong proficiency in drawings, specifications, building codes, and multidiscipline coordination.Experience with digital takeoff tools and estimating software.Familiarity with NYC construction requirements, labor conditions, and trade practices.Strong communication skills for interfacing with developers, GCs, property owners, and architects.Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet rigid deadlines.Ability to work within a structured estimating framework while building out new systems for NYC operations.Knowledge of value engineering, risk evaluation, and scope gap identification.What We’re Looking ForA results-driven estimator who knows how to win profitable commercial work—not just price it.Someone who can help build and formalize the NYC commercial division and establish long-term estimating processes.A polished professional comfortable representing an MBE contractor in private-sector markets.An analytical, detail-oriented individual capable of handling multiple bids simultaneously.A proactive, strategic thinker with strong NYC industry contacts or insight.Call to ActionIf you are an experienced NYC commercial estimator ready to take on a leadership role and help build a competitive commercial division within a certified MBE contractor, we encourage you to apply.
