HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

Under the general supervision of an Inventory Supervisor and/or Manager, the Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring product is moved in a safe and efficient manner, maintaining proper inventory, and upholding good housekeeping and manufacturing practices.

• Loading and unloading of tractor-trailer trucks in a timely and accurate manner.

• Maintaining the integrity of products through proper handling and storage.

• Maintaining accurate inventories.

• Operating a forklift safely.

• Conducting daily safety inspections of forklift vehicle(s).

• Ensuring facility maintenance through housekeeping by keeping product and facility secure.

• Maintaining assets of the facility.

• Complying with regulatory and company policies and procedures.

• Operating other industrial vehicles and equipment.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• One-year related experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing environment. Certification preferred.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT

• Requires long periods of time spent sitting in a forklift and standing on a hard surface.

• Substantial amount of pushing, pulling, and lifting.

• Requires ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds.

• Requires moderately difficult performance of hand-eye coordination and manipulative skills.

• Requires ability to see objects closely.

• Requires the ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• This position functions year-round both indoors and outdoors in a traditional manufacturing / warehouse setting.

• This position will have varying temperatures between different areas.

• This position will have varying normal sounds and background noise.
