Farm Store Team Lead

At DeGrandchamp Farms, we’ve been growing high-quality blueberries and cranberries since 1958. Our farm is a place where families, visitors, and neighbors come to enjoy fresh fruit, homemade treats, and time together. Our farm store features fresh produce, baked goods, gifts, and a popular ice cream counter. We’re also proud of our U-pick blueberry experience, which has become a cherished tradition for many families who return year after year to pick fresh berries and make memories together.

The Farm Store Lead supports daily store operations by focusing on execution, shift leadership, and team coordination. Leads ensure that the Farm Store Manager’s standards and expectations are carried out consistently during each shift.

This role is ideal for individuals who excel at staying organized, leading by example, and keeping operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Shift Execution & Team Support

• Lead day-to-day store operations during assigned shifts
• Assign and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth workflow and customer service
• Support and guide store employees throughout the shift
• Ensure all staff follow established procedures and standards

Customer Service

• Deliver excellent customer service and model expected behaviors
• Address routine customer questions or concerns
• Escalate significant issues to the Farm Store Manager as needed

Store Operations

• Ensure completion of daily operational tasks, including:
• Stocking shelves
• POS operation and cash handling
• Ice cream service and food-area cleanliness
• Store, prep, and back-of-house cleanliness
• Open and close the store following established procedures
• Monitor inventory needs and communicate concerns to the Manager

Communication

• Communicate daily updates, priorities, and expectations to the team
• Provide clear shift handoffs to other Leads or the Manager
• Share feedback, issues, or improvement ideas with the Manager
• Serve as a point of contact during shifts to help keep operations running smoothly

Hands-On Leadership

• Lead by example and step in to assist with any task as needed
• Maintain a calm, organized presence during busy periods

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate maturity in dealing with stressful customer and team member situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to lead by example and work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable learning and using a point-of-sale system
• Participate in customer service training
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks throughout the day
• Weekend availability required; flexibility during peak season is essential
• Previous retail, food service, or leadership experience preferred.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the store
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb.
• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors in a farm store environment

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
