POSITION OVERVIEW

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a junior Human Resources Support Specialist for a position supporting the Contingency Operations (CO) Department at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), located at Fort Belvoir, VA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support in tracking human resource actions and activities related to recruitment (hiring and onboarding), retention, and awards programs for Civilians and Military.
• Support the CO Department with honorary civilian awards, to include assisting with drafting, proofing, and submitting all documentation required into appropriate DTRA workflow platforms.
• Perform complex tasks involving gathering, analyzing, and compiling data and information into well-written reports and presentations, to support senior leader decision making.
• Maintain awareness of annual due outs, such as the Department's military evaluations, and assist with in processing and out-processing employees, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Possess an active Secret security clearance
• High School Diploma
• One to three (3) years of professional Government-agency, military, or corporate experience human resource support
• Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports, briefings, memoranda, and presentations.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g., TEAMS, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree desired
