Title: Technical Writer / Business Analyst (IT Documentation)
Location: Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite)
Summary:
Seeking a Technical Writer with strong Business Analyst experience to support IT documentation, requirements gathering, and stakeholder communication. This role focuses on translating complex technical and business concepts into clear, high-quality documentation while supporting cross-functional teams in a structured project environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage IT and project documentation (manuals, guides, system docs)
- Translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content
- Gather and document business and system requirements (user stories, As-Is/To-Be)
- Conduct interviews with SMEs and stakeholders to collect and validate information
- Review and edit technical artifacts (design docs, system overviews, specifications)
- Support business process modeling, analysis, and improvement initiatives
- Ensure documentation aligns with PMO standards and regulatory requirements
- Facilitate meetings, prepare reports, and provide executive-level briefings
- Collaborate with developers, QA, architects, and business teams
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3 years of technical or business writing experience
- 5 years as IT Business Analyst or similar role
- Strong experience with requirements gathering and documentation
- Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience with business process mapping and re-engineering
- Ability to write user stories and system requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong communication, editing, and organizational skills
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with tools like JIRA, MS Project, Power BI, Tableau
- Knowledge of SQL, data analysis tools, or reporting platforms
- Familiarity with SDLC (Agile/Scrum/Waterfall)
- Experience in government or regulated environments
- Certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technical Writing, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
