Position Overview
The Detail Team Lead is a crucial part of our business, bridging the gap between hourly employees and the leadership team. This position is expected to demonstrate the highest level of performance and excellence in the Operations Department. The ideal Detail Team Lead is someone who exemplifies all four of our CORE values: DRIVE, DELIGHT, DETAIL, and DEVELOP. The Detail Team Lead will partner with all leadership managers at their respective facilities to provide a best-in-class, clean, and safe environment that enhances member experience and builds member satisfaction. This role also involves assisting the Operations Manager in managing the Play Department and supporting maintenance tasks to ensure the overall functionality and appeal of the facilities. Additionally, the Detail Team Lead will lead by example in maintaining a positive culture and ensuring that our facilities meet cleanliness and safety standards daily.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Ensure all club areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, internal and external, including walkways and parking lots
- Complete routine walkthroughs such as trash removal, locker room spot cleaning, and re-racking weights
- Oversee execution of daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks assigned by management
- Assist the Operations Team Manager in managing the Play department to ensure play areas are clean, safe, organized, and enjoyable for members
- Support maintenance tasks, routine inspections, minor repairs, and reporting significant maintenance needs to the Operations Team Manager
- Communicate effectively with all team members to ensure seamless operations
- Assist with supervised projects, such as painting, and ensure project completion
- Provide excellent customer service by maintaining a clean and organized facility for members to utilize
- Lead and motivate the Detail Team and ensue adherence to cleaning schedules and protocols
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety
- Maintain records of cleaning tasks and inventory of cleaning supplies
- Attend mandatory meetings for the Operations department
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed as outlined
- Log/report all maintenance concerns to the front desk.
- Report safety concerns to the appropriate channels and communicate incident reports to General Manager.
- Adhere to Detail Team Lead schedule and company attendance policies
- Other duties, such as team cleans or detailed inspections of locker rooms, as assigned by General Manager and/or Operations Team Manager

- Proactively identify cleanliness and maintenance issues and resolve as needed
- Receive positive feedback from members regarding the cleanliness and condition of the facility
- Ensure a safe and clean environment that meets all health and safety standards.
Performance Metrics
The Detail Team Lead will be measured by specific KPIs. All KPIs will contribute to the overall goals set out for their respective clubs, while offering support in ensuring the success of the Operations Manager. All metrics are measured monthly.
- Contribute to achieving monthly MXM expectations in cleanliness, friendliness and equipment condition score of 8.6 or higher
- Club audit score of 85% or higher
- Assist the Operations Team Manager for staffing needs
- Conduct hourly bathroom checks
- Daily club inspection (1 per shift)
- Inventory check and restock daily (2 per day)
- Ensure completion of Team Cleans as scheduled ( 11 AM, 2 PM, 4 PM)
Qualifications
- One (1) year tenure with Defined Fitness, detail and/or play team, preferred (successful completion of a 90-day development plan)
- College degree in related field preferred
- Use of business judgment and strong analytical aptitude
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrates willingness for self-development and able to use resources to improve overall operations
- Strong leadership qualities including organizational ,motivational, team-building skills, and proficiency in delegation of tasks
- Must obtain and maintain valid CPR/AED certification (including infant and child) within the first 45 days of employment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform the following tasks: walk, squat, bend, stoop, stand, listen, read, and write
