About Defense Flooring
Defense Flooring is a specialty flooring contractor based in Virginia Beach and a division of Specialty Group. We install epoxy, urethane cement, polished concrete, and resilient flooring in military, government, aviation, and commercial facilities, including Navy hangars and active bases. Our work is built on three things: service, integrity, and excellence.

What you will do
- Prep concrete floors: grinding, repairs, and cleanup
- Mix and stage materials and help install epoxy, urethane cement, and quartz floors, including cove base
- Assist on polished concrete, LVP, VCT, and carpet tile jobs
- Take direction from Leads and Foremen and communicate clearly with the crew
- Do the work to our quality standards and the manufacturer's specs
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional every day
- Take care of company tools, vehicles, and materials
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and jobsite rules, especially on military bases
What we are looking for
- You show up on time, prepared, and ready to work every scheduled day
- Team-first attitude and respect for customers, teammates, and the facilities we work in
- Willing to learn new systems, tools, and installation methods
- Ready for physical work: lifting, kneeling, grinding, and standing for long periods
- Flexible with scheduling, including occasional nights, weekends, or travel
- Construction, trades, or warehouse experience is a plus but not required
- U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen (required for base access)

Our nine-tier ladder runs from Installer 1 up through Foreman and Superintendent, and you move up by earning skills and endorsements on each flooring system. Most of our work is local in Hampton Roads.
