Burrow Global is seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls / Administrative Support professional to support the Capital Projects Group Manager at a petrochemical facility in the Port Neches, TX area. The successful candidate will provide integrated project controls and administrative support to the manager but may also provide some support to project managers, planners, and field teams, ensuring accurate tracking of scope, schedule, cost, risks, and document control. This role requires strong organizational skills, basic understanding of engineering and construction project workflows and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team in a plant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Controls
- Assist in data collection and progress tracking for assigned projects.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cost loading, and variance analysis for portfolio of capital projects
- Collect, organize, and verify data to provide status updates to project leadership.
- Prepare cost reports, equipment asset status, and weekly/monthly project dashboards.
- Administrative Support
- Manage project control documents: create, organize, version, and distribution of transmission to stakeholders.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems for project documents; ensure accessibility and audit readiness.
- Schedule meetings, coordinate logistics, prepare agendas, take and distribute minutes, and track action items.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, and reports; assist with proofreading and formatting.
- Coordinate with field personnel and office staff to ensure timely information flow.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to administrative and project controls workflows.
- Assist in preparing for internal and external audits; maintain traceability of project data.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Experience: 2–3 years in project controls, administrative support, or related roles within petrochemical, refining, or heavy industrial environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficiency with SAP.
- Basic understanding of cost management
- Familiarity with ERP systems or procurement platforms for tracking POs, RFQs, and invoicing is advantageous.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication; ability to liaison with engineers, field supervisors, and the management team.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Compliance & Safety: Ability to follow site safety rules and wear appropriate PPE; willingness to undergo site-specific orientation.
Working Conditions
- Environment: Petrochemical office building located at plant site; Possible exposure to typical industrial settings. May require PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, flame-resistant clothing as dictated by site rules).
- Work Schedule: 9/80 shift schedule; flexibility to cover project needs and potential overtime during critical milestones.
