Duties
- Assist with landscape installation projects, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers while following design plans.
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to ensure lush, healthy turf.
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers safely and efficiently.
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including pruning trees and shrubs, mulching beds, and installing irrigation systems.
- Support hardscape construction by preparing sites with excavators and other machinery; install features like patios or walkways.
- Conduct seasonal snow plowing to keep pathways clear during winter months.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance to ensure all tools and machinery are in optimal condition.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in landscaping.
- Experience with lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of tree care practices including trimming and pruning techniques.
- Ability to operate equipment such as excavators or other construction machinery is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures during landscaping or construction tasks.
- Good physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; ability to lift heavy materials when needed.
