Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to clients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA supports clients with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and safety, helping them maintain their independence and dignity while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes to the supervising nurse.

• Assist with ambulation and transfers, including the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts).

• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up client areas.

• Provide companionship and emotional support.

• Help with mobility exercises and encourage physical activity as instructed by therapy or nursing staff.

• Ensure client safety and report any hazards or incidents promptly.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

• Follow infection control protocols and maintain client confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications:

• Must have a personal vehicle

• High school diploma or GED.

• Current and valid CNA certification in the state of Missouri.

• CPR AND First Aid certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred).

• Photo ID

• Social Security Card

• Minimum of 6 months experience in a home health or long-term care setting preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying client needs.

Physical and Lifting Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

• Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds independently.

• Ability to assist clients with transfers, repositioning, and use of mobility aids.

• Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel frequently.

• Exposure to various home environments and possible allergens.
