The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to clients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The CNA supports clients with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and safety, helping them maintain their independence and dignity while ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Essential Responsibilities:

Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.

Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and report changes to the supervising nurse.

Assist with ambulation and transfers, including the use of assistive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, gait belts).

Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and tidying up client areas.

Provide companionship and emotional support.

Help with mobility exercises and encourage physical activity as instructed by therapy or nursing staff.

Ensure client safety and report any hazards or incidents promptly.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Follow infection control protocols and maintain client confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications:

Must have a personal vehicle

High school diploma or GED.

Current and valid CNA certification in the state of Missouri.

CPR AND First Aid certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred).

Minimum of 6 months experience in a home health or long-term care setting preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying client needs.
Physical and Lifting Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds independently.

Ability to assist clients with transfers, repositioning, and use of mobility aids.

Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel frequently.

Exposure to various home environments and possible allergens.
